During a Developer Deep Dive video, Resolution Games announced that the upcoming competitive Mech soccer — Ultimechs — will be released on September 15th. The best part is, that the game will be free to play.
We mentioned in our earlier article on the game that there will be only Teleport Locomotion, Resolution Games continues to affirm that this is required to keep the gameplay fast and fluid.
The Deep Dive showcased additional gameplay and mentioned providing upcoming details on the first season pass. Since the game will be free to play with a season pass, it’s safe to assume that there will be additional skins and vanity items available for purchase and unlocks. No word on if any of these things will affect gameplay.
While I admit, that my initial impressions of the game were a bit lackluster with Teleport Locomotion being the only form of movement, it seems Resolution is staying firm that this is best for the game. The gameplay seems fast pace and requires a fair bit of hand-eye coordination and will hopefully be easy for those with weak VR games to jump in quickly.
Will you be trying Ultimechs out when it releases on Steam, Meta, and Pico on September 15th?
