Developer and Data Miner Steve Moser shared with Bloomberg today he had found a string of code that indicated that the upcoming Meta headset will be called — unsurprising — the Quest Pro. The uncovered string of code references pairing the device’s controller to the headset.
The latest news and findings were discovered in the code of the Apple iPhone Oculus App, which reads “Pair Meta Quest Pro right controller.”
The Bloomberg article goes on to talk about the processing power of Meta’s next headset being far superior to the Quest 2’s and talks about how Meta recently “scaled back” on other hardware projects such as their smartwatch to focus on Project Cambria’s launch.
Meta has already stated that Project Cambria will cost significantly more than Quest 2 and aims to replace your laptop as a work-from-home station and is built with productivity in mind. So far rumors have stated that it will cost upwards of 800 USD. We got our first real look of the headset in action back in May, when Zuck himself showcased some new features coming to the headset.
The schematics for Project Cambria were leaked earlier last month, which seemed to align with ongoing hardware predictions for the headset.
